Ash has changed a lot since the day he first left Pallet with a less than willing Pikachu at his side. He’s met new friends and traveled to several different regions. While he used to be quick to anger and easily insulted he’s now far more willing to accept fault and even listen to criticism. In the earlier series he seemed to suffer from an inferiority complex likely brought on by a need to always have to prove himself. He still feels that same drive but now he’s far more willing to let things go.
One thing that hasn’t changed in all his travels is his passion and reckless selflessness. He’d go through any lengths to help anyone who needed it and this is doubly true for a Pokémon in need of help. In earlier episodes this is seen as him jumping in front of Bulbasaur to block a fully grown Venusaur’s vine whip from hitting, or jumping to grab hold of a net a Pokémon is trapped in with no regard for how high up he is. In later episodes he’s retained the same recklessness which is seen when he very nearly falls into an active volcano to catch his falling Talonflame, or when he climbed to the top of Lumiose Tower to help a rampaging Garchomp, later he even dove off the tower to save Pikachu.
He’s the type of person that’s always happy to try new things as he believes that everything he does is a chance to learn and grow stronger, especially if he’s able to try new things with his Pokémon. Many of the region champions and gym leaders have remarked that Ash is an unusual boy in that he is rather unpredictable especially when it comes to Pokémon Battles.
Ash is rather unusual as he seems to have a natural sort of connection with Pokémon and finds it odd when people treat it like it’s not something most people can do. He says he can’t exactly understand what they’re saying, it’s more that he feels what they’re saying and believes this is something everyone can do if they try. He also doesn’t talk too much about his more grand adventures as when admitting he’d met a Lugia in the Orange Islands he leaves off the part where he had to save the world.
He is one stubbornly determined kid with a strong sense of justice. He cannot and will not sit back if someone is in trouble. He’s saved the world multiple times and even tried to sacrifice his life to help those he loves and cares about. The most well known indication of this is when he ran between Mewtwo and Mew’s attacks and was briefly turned to stone.
He’s also retained his fiery passion for Pokémon battles, happy to challenge anyone and accept any challenge put to him. He believes that battling is the best way to get stronger and make new friends so he’s constantly itching for a battle. He’s got a very unique way of battling. While his typical battle technique is to rely on speed and power he’s also been known to use his opponents attacks to his advantage in truly outlandish ways. While not a particularly book smart, Ash is clever in other ways and relies mainly on instinct rather than strategy. When he does try to use planned strategy he tends to be a little short sighted and doesn't take into account his opponents own strategy.
Ash is a very skilled Pokémon Trainer, placing top sixteen out of hundred in the Indigo league, top eight in the Johto League, top eight in the Hoenn League, top four in the Sinnoh League, top eight in the Unova League, and Runner up in the Kalos League.
His goal is to become a Pokémon Master which if you ask him about what that is, he can’t exactly tell you in clearly defined terms. He wants to work with Pokémon to improve their strong points and make friends with as many Pokémon as he possibly can.
Overall, Ash is a kind, honest boy. He doesn’t like making promises he can’t keep, he can’t stand to sit by while someone is in need of help and loves his friends and family more than anything.
Bonus; Ash and Pikachu: Pikachu was Ash’s very first Pokémon and while Pikachu didn’t care much for his enthusiastic trainer at first, he warmed up to him very quickly and now the two are inseparable. It’s remarked upon several times that the two are so close they’re practically always in sync with each other.
They will sometimes still butt heads with each other but it’s very rare and usually has something to do with Ash being reckless or just generally not thinking things through. Pikachu is highly protective of Ash and Ash is highly protective of Pikachu. Both are perfectly happy to put their life on the line if it means keeping the other safe.
Abilities:
The Power of Friendship: He’s very good at making friends. Even if someone doesn’t like him at first they will probably end up being his friend eventually. He can even be on friendly terms with Team Rocket under the right circumstances.
Aura Powers: Within the series, Aura is considered to be the life force all living creatures have. Some humans and some Pokémon (Lucario) have the ability to manipulate their Aura with training. Ash is shown to be sensitive to aura but he doesn’t have full control over it as he is not a practicing Aura Guardian. The most he can do is lend some of his life force to others and activate something called a Time Flower. He can sometimes sense the Aura of others but usually only with another Aura Sensitive Pokémon. His dormant Aura Powers are likely what allows him to connect with Pokémon on such a deep level.
The Chosen One: Ash has saved the world a lot. He seems to have an innate ability to befriend Pokémon (even legendaries). It’s often legendary Pokémon that turn to him for help to protect the world.
The Bond Phenomenon: He’s able to Fuse with his Greninja (who is not here) which is referred to as ‘Ash-Greninja’ during which times he can feel Greninja’s pain and see what he’s seeing. This is likely achieved through his aura powers as well as Ash and Greninja’s twin battling spirits. This ability is not really relevant for now.
Pikachu’s attacks are currently as follows: Thunderbolt, Quick attack, Iron Tail and Electro Ball. He has the special ability static which means if something touches it directly during a battle, there is a risk of temporary paralysis. His nature is Hardy.
Personal Item:.
Pikachu, naturally.

A Question
Date: 2023-02-08 06:21 pm (UTC)We have been looking over the application and the linked Wiki page and were not able to quickly find an answer to one question. Can you explain this 'Time Flower'. What does it do, how might it come into play in this game setting?
no subject

Finally, we would like to offer one small note/reminder. We are aware that Ash's Pikachu is often depicted as powerful beyond the normal instances of its species, but ask you to remember to keep his power levels reasonable. Let's not go thunderbolting a ship apart, for instance.
